VISION
To make continuous contribution to the productivity of all branches of Economic and Social activities of the Nation.

MISSION
Enhancement of image of Industrial Engineering Profession. Assimilation, creation and dissemination of knowledge base in the field of productivity related sciences. Providing customer service, design and installation of integrated system of resource utilisation through IE precepts and practices.

OBJECTIVES

  • The institution has the following objectives :
  • To advance the general welfare of mankind through the resources and creative abilities of the profession.
  • To establish and maintain a National Headquarters for providing adequate administrative and supervisory support to the activities, and to establish a network of chapters spread over the country with the same objectives.
  • To provide facilities for the unrestricted dissemination of knowledge and information relating to the profession among the professionals and the public in general by:
    1. Conducting and/or participating in meetings, seminars, discussions, lectures, conferences, public meetings. film exhibitions, radio or television broadcasting
    2. Preparing, editing, printing, publishing, circulating, acquiring, selling or otherwise distributing such journals, periodicals, books, papers, leaflets, films and mechanical and other models and equipments as the Institution may deem desirable for the promotion of its objectives.
    3. Establishing, formulating and maintaining offices, libraries, exhibitions, collections and displays of literature, statistics, exhibits and information relating to industrial Engineering and allied disciplines.
  • To promote understanding of the profession in the fields of business, industry and public administration and among educational, research and professional bodies in India and abroad by means of visits, discussions, advice consultancy and all other and all other forms of co-operation and joint endeavor.
  • To develop the profession as an effective tool of management in all spheres of the economy by
  1. Expanding the existing knowledge
  2. Encouraging the development of new techniques
  3. Adapting the techniques to suit Indian conditions
  4. Initiating new applications
  5. Spotlighting future needs
  6. Offering and carrying out advisory and consultancy services to industry, government, educational and all other institutions engaged in human endeavor, achieving benefits from optimization of resource utilization and furthering the boundaries of Industrial Engineering and allied sciences
  7. And by other means
  • To foster, assist and conduct education and research in subjects related to the profession by :
  1. Instituting programmes of studies
  2. Conducting training courses, formalised instruction programmes
  3. Setting standards of qualification
  4. Conducting professional examinations
  5. Sponsoring institution or conducting research programmes, technical surveys etc.
  6. Assisting colleges, universities, and other institutions in the development of important educational programmes in professional subjects:

  • To ensure professional standing by:
  1. Promotion of ethical professional practices
  2. Fostering of a high degree of integrity among the members of the profession
  3. Identification of personnel qualified to practice the profession
  4. And by other means.
  • To institute a Chair in Industrial Engineering Studies in Universities/Institutes/ Colleges. To confer titles, diplomas, certificates, prizes, scholarships etc. and professional qualifications.
  • To provide a forum for the individuals and organizations interested in the profession and to fulfill the need of a united national professional organization in India.
  • To recognize eminent professional men and women for their contribution and services by conferring Honours and Awards on them.
