ABOUT INSTITUTION
With the rapid technological explosions of the 1950s, a systematic and integrated approach to total productivity became crucial and industrial engineering emerged as the leading discipline to meet this need.

Leading personalities in India interested in Scientific Management also saw (in late 1957s) the need for fostering this discipline in our Country. Thus, the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering was founded in 1957 by eminent business leaders, top management personnel, academicians and practitioners of Industrial Engineering in the country.
The Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE) is a not-for profit organisation and a registered society for propagating the profession of Industrial Engineering in India and is also a registered Public Trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. It is dedicated to the advancement of Industrial Engineering education and practice and to the application of such scientific knowledge to assist in the management of all endavoures.

ORGANISATION
The IIIE National Headquarters (NHQ) is located at CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai in its own premises known as IIIE Bhavan. The building has three stories with a total area of 9,000 sq.ft. The Institution has well-organized secretariats for organising Programmes (Seminar, Workshop, Conferences and Conventions). Publication, conducting Graduateship Examinations and General Administration with extensive computer network for all the sections and staff. The Institution also has a well-organised Library and well furnished class rooms and a conference hall. An auditorium and other facilities under implementation.
